ICRCPREWIN: Recipe Challenge - 2nd Round of DT Inspiration

Hey Everyone!

Here is my 2nd card for the the current RECIPE challenge at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM

So, I wanted to talk a bit about LIGHTING for my projects!  Oh my!  I was having a difficult time with lighting up my cards for a picture, as I mostly craft at night now.  After visiting craft blogs galore and seeing the different setups for picture taking, I decided I should invest in a soft box and tabletop lights. The set up does take up a bit of table space, but it's worth it!

I opt to have natural lighting along with this, but for night time picture taking, this set up is perfect. The lights came in time for me to take my pic, so here it is.  Not so shabby ;)  Will keep playing around with the set up!

Here is my card for the 2nd round of DT inspiration...

ICRCPREWIN02: Recipe Challenege

Hey Everyone!

Hope you'll join us for our current challenge over at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM! Hope you'll stop by and join us!

Here is our challenge...
ICRCPREWIN02: Recipe Challenge

This was a a fun challenge, and I'm sharing both of my inspirations for this month today, but will post separately.

Here is my first card....

I used the Joy Fold Technique (aka gatefold technique).  I think "Joy Fold" sounds so much more fitting - tis the season!  I decorated the inside with a dark green ribbon which looks black in the picture, and reminds me of Santa's outfit.  Not what I was trying for, but I think it works :)
The DP and Christmas embellishment I've been hanging onto for a few years, so was happy to finally use them.

Thanks for stopping by!

I had too much fun with these watercolors, and am looking forward to making some more.  I used the watercolor embossing resist technique.  The bronze leaves were embossed first, and then I watercolored.  I embossed the "thanks" sentiment as well and used 3-d dots to pop it up, as well as the leaves embellishments.

Happy Halloweekend!

HAPPY HALLOWEEKEND!

This is my 1st of two posts today...lots going on this Halloweekend.

We celebrated my nephew's birthday yesterday with a Halloween Bash.  It was also my baby girl's first Halloween, so her dad and I fought over her halloween candy!  Just kidding!  We could hardly wait to get her into her first halloween costume and take her trick-or-treating, which means TOO MANY PICS!   We dress up ever year even if it's in a small way,  so this was something we were looking forward to!  I love Halloweekends!

The "Hallows Eve" digi is from Cuddlebug Cuties that I've been saving to use.  I colored the image in with copics, which I haven't used in quite some time.  A lot of my craft stuff is still in boxes, so had to use good ole' sandpaper to distress the punched out sentiment.

Here's my card!

ICRCAUT02: Stripy Sketch + DIWALI Creations

Hey Everyone!

The INDIAN CRAFT ROOM is has a new Coaster Rides challenge!  All about Diwali!
Let me till you bit more about Diwali...

Diwali is also known as the "festival of lights!"  It's an Indian festival marking the triumph of GOOD over EVIL.  During the days leading to Diwali, families celebrate by taking part in traditional activities in their homes and neighborhoods.  Some of these activities include festive fireworks, sharing of sweets, creating rangoli designs, and lighting up oil lamps called diyas aka LIGHTS.....LOTS AND LOTS OF LIGHTS!

Here is our challenge...
ICRCAUT02: Stripy Sketch + DIWALI Creations

Celebrations are usually started off with a Ganesh Puja.  So, instead of diyas, I decided to use a pic of Ganesh,  who is the God of good beginnings and remover of obstacles.   Normally my pics are taken indoors using natural light, but had to wait for the sun to come up (behind the trees).  It wasn't coming up fast enough, so decided to take the pic outside, which did help!

ICRCAUT01: Triangle + More Than THREE

Happy Sunday Everyone!

It feels good to be back to my craft table and on my blog after a long break.   I loved every minute of it, but was itching to get back to crafting, and anxious about all that I was missing. Well, I'm back and ready to get back to my craft!

The
INDIAN CRAFT ROOM is back as well!  I've missed working with Ash, and all the wonderful DTs and crafters at ICR.  I'm excited to share that I'm once again a proud DT member, and we're back with a great challenge...

The challenges have been renamed "CoasteRides" or "Coaster Rides" as we want to challenge all crafters to venture into all types of paper crafts...

Here is our first challenge...
ICRCAUT01: Triangle + More Than THREE

I took the theme of "Coaster Rides" literally, and went with a roller coaster digi!  I think the sentiments are fitting to both myself and the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM !  It's been a long time, but we are back!

The roller coaster digi is from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. It was the perfect digi with tons of triangles.   I had lots of fun with all the

COLORS
